How to Create Custom Fields in Nutshell

Learn how to add custom fields to Companies, People, and Leads, so you can adjust the information you collect according to your business needs.

Nutshell

Nutshell makes it easy to add custom fields to your People, Company, and Lead records.

Navigate to 'Settings' and select 'Custom fields' from the 'Organization' section of the menu.

On the custom fields page, you can create custom fields to include on People, Company, or Lead pages. \[Custom Lead fields can appear in the center or right-hand sidebar of the Lead page, or only appear when they contain information. Custom Person and Company fields will always appear in the right-hand sidebar of each record.\]

To add a custom field, click "Create a new field."

Custom Lead fields can include the following types of information: - Text - Long text - Currency - Date - Email - Decision - Address - Phone - URL

Custom company and person fields can include: - Text - Long text - Currency - Date - Decision

Want to track whether a Person has filled out certain paperwork? Give the new custom field a name, select 'Decision' as the field type, and add multiple-choice options. Click 'Create', and you're good to go!

Use the field handles on the left to drag custom fields into the order you want them to appear.

Your new custom field will now appear on the Person, Company, or Lead page!

You can also add custom fields as columns in your lists to help you filter and organize your data. Start by clicking "Change columns."

Then select the custom fields you'd like to add as columns.
